Anthony Condengi: Stepping Unto God's Path

Senior Anthony Condengi will be attending Montclair State University and majoring in “Computer Science. I chose that major because that is simply what I am interested in. I have always been into technology, so this would be a great major to follow.”

Anthony’s favorite memory at EC was, “during a class with Mr. Wright. Our Graphic Design class went outside for something, and then out of nowhere Mr. Wright made a strange sound and said, “Who would leave their dead possum in the parking lot?” It turns out that he had stepped on a dead possum, and his reaction was really funny.”

EC has impacted Anthony over the past four years as “EC has shaped me to be an intellectually well-rounded person. It allowed me to decide what my interests are and what major I should study. It taught me how to work well with others on projects and assignments. It helped me come out of my comfort zone and try new opportunities.”

Anthony has also seen his faith grow the past four years as “I noticed that I have gotten closer to God. I actually recently created a long playlist of Christian songs and worship music that I tend to listen to a lot. I feel like I have been praying and seeking after God more.”

Not only has Anthony’s faith grown the past four years but he has also grown a lot these past four years. “During the beginning of high school, I was a really shy and introverted person. I rarely talked to anyone, unless I was forced. Throughout high school, I became less of a shy person and more outgoing. It became easier for me to express my personality and be more extroverted. This allows me to take more risks and to put myself out there.”

Anthony also touched on the fact that, “Besides playing video games, I love music. This includes listening to music, playing an instrument, or even creating music. I play the guitar, and I’m part of the worship team in my youth group.”

Anthony is most thankful for, “my friends and family that were there for me, and especially my parents that helped me get through hard obstacles.”

The top thing that Anthony has learned is that “In the end, God is always there for us and provides for us. There is a purpose and plan for every situation that comes our way. Why worry, when we could be thankful for what God is doing in our lives.”

As senior year comes to an end, Anthony touched on his legacy saying that, “I’m someone that you wouldn’t understand until you actually get to know me.”
