Catering company Maschio’s, who began their service at EC this year, has pulled out of business with the school.
According to Mr. Intlekofer, Maschio’s is pulling out due to low sales, and administration is currently in the process of searching for a new company.
When asked about possibilities for a new company, he said, “They just told us this week. Obviously, with COVID rules, we had to start slow and deliver to the classroom, so that was tough in rolling out a new food service plan. I think that has affected it and I’m not blaming Maschio’s, it’s just the crazy year that we’re having.”
It is possible that the company that previously served EC will come back. “We’ll look at all the options. It’s hard because of the limitations on what we’re allowed to prepare and how we’re allowed to serve food. It’s just a different and difficult year, and everything’s on the table if it works.”
Mr. I is holding out hope for a new company, despite the difficulties. He says, “I would say probably not in the next few weeks but we hope to get a solution as soon as we can if that’s possible. It was unexpected, so we honestly didn’t plan anything.”
